Intro
Stefanie Taylor is one of the best Women cricketers. She is an all Rounder. She plays for West Indies. Stefanie is known for getting into West Indies at only 17.
Early Life
Stefanie Roxanne Taylor was born on June 11 1991 in Spanish Town, Jamaica. Stefanie's hometown is Spanish Town, Jamaica. At Stefanie's primary school she played football and Netball. At 8 Taylor met Leon Campbell. Leon was practicing a Cricket shot. She asked Leon what he was doing. He told her to try cricket. So she did. She played street games with boys sometimes.
At only 10 years old Stefanie had her first cricket tour. A lot of her siblings and her one Mother were track and field athletes. Taylor went to Eltham high school where she represented U14 and U16. She was the only girl in the team! In a U16 game Taylor scored a Century!
Middle Life
At such a young age she got to Jamaica! After 6 years she was 17 and went to West Indies! Her T20 Debut was against Ireland. She Scored 90 run 49 balls. She even opened the batting innings and got a triumph. Stefanie was the highest run scorer and was named the player of the match.
Her ODI debut was against Ireland. After that game Taylor scored a good 70 against the Netherlands. Then in the 2009 Women's cricket World Cup she was the best West Indian performer.
She was leading in Wicket and Runs. In October 2009 Stefanie Taylor scored 102 not out against South Africa. In 2010 Stefanie had a three match series against Sri Lanka where she scored back to back fifties. In the 2010-11 series against Netherlands in South Africa Taylor scored 147 runs from only 27 balls! She was also named the Player of the year in Women's cricket.
In the late 2011s Stefanie joined the Auckland Hearts from the New Zealand Premier League. For 2017 she was there. She had 2 teams in the Australian Premier League called Big Bash that are Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder. She joined Thunder in 2015 and Strikers in 2019. On September 18, 2019 Stefanie played her 100th Women's T20 World Cup.
In 2020 she had a series against England. Game 2 was on September 24. In game 2 she became the second person in Women's Cricket to score 3,000 runs. In 2026 Stefanie Taylor had a game against Australia. On a day she scored 105 runs. Unfortunately for Taylor Australia beat West Indies but Stefanie scored a century.
Late Life
Stafanie Taylor retired after that. Taylor should be remembered because of her achievements. In high school Stefanie was the only girl in U16. In her early life she was asked to try Cricket. She did. If Stefanie didn't achieve her goals we would probably not have a cricket player in Women's West Indies like her. That is what I admire about her.
